Martinis & Miles

To every visitor, thanks for stopping by! So let me introduce myself and what I aim to do here.  My name is Laney, and currently I am a semi-normal human gainfully employed with a “real job” in no way related to the travel or hospitality industry. More importantly, I am a dog and cat mom.

When I am not dancing attendance upon these lovable little slavemasters or working, I am traveling or actively planning my next trip.  I have been lucky enough to have been all over the the world, and am right now sitting at over 30 countries, 5 continents, and 1 skydiving expedition.

When people ask me where I want to go, it’s much easier to say where I don’t.  That being said, I highly encourage everyone to start, maintain and update a bucket list.  I really enjoy it, there are few things more satisfying than scratching something off.

Since I am gainfully employed, it understandably limits my ability to travel 100% of the time. I understand, however, there are a lot of people who do travel for a living and do very well at it, I do not mean to cast aspersions on them in any way.   I point this out to simply say that, I pay my own way and don’t get paid to say nice things about anyone. If my trip was utter crap, I’m going to say it.  I totally did that this year, where I was so excited to scratch something off my bucket off list, and the trip was really, truly awful. That will most likely be the subject of another entry.

Anyways, I digress, I hope this will be a community of travelers discussing their experiences, a place to come for advice, and if nothing else, just some entertainment between happy hours.

Please, share your experiences good and bad!  Share and tag us on social media! Ask me questions, or if I have been places, or if you want entries on particular places/ subjects! All I ask is that we not into a mean place, because while I admit that is occasionally entertaining, its not the point here.  Besides, no one really did that better than Joan Rivers anyway, and I’ll never be a tenth as funny as her.
