Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod, Massachusetts

If you are looking for coastal luxury in Cape Cod, then your search begins and ends with the Chatham Bars Inn. Chatham Bars Inn is a full service luxury oceanfront resort on Cape Cod.

The property was built in 1914 by wealthy Bostonians for vacationing.  Since then it has been transformed to a stunning luxury resort with an environmentally friendly flair.

Checking In:

Checking in was a breeze in the beautiful dark wood paneled lobby.  I was assigned a quiet corner room with a balcony and view of the ocean.  It was above the lawn where people gather and live music is played at night, and I was able to hear it through the walls and windows.

Drinking and Dining

There are multiple restaurants on property and CBI has their own farm for the freshest ingredients.  You can even do a farm to table experience (must be pre-booked).  Periodically they have special events with foodie themes.

Stars is the more formal dining room with beautiful water views, and an expansive breakfast buffet every morning.  We all know how much I love a good breakfast buffet.

Sacred Cod is modeled after a New England tavern, its a great place to have a drink in the evening  or a relaxed dinner. You can find craft beer and high end whiskeys here as well.

The Veranda is a relaxed causal open air restaurant open most of the day.  Relax on the patio watching the water and feeling the breeze.

The Beach House was my favorite overall. The bartenders are so fun and engaging.  I spent an entire afternoon making friends and having cocktails in the sunshine with the ocean breeze wafting through.  The veteran bartenders are so popular that residents from around the island come just to hang out with them.  Its such a great atmosphere I could have stayed all day.  Food was incredible as well- the ahi tuna and the turtle brownie dessert are not to be missed.

To Do:

Beach/ Pool– Stretch out and nap in a cabana on the beach, or read a book while watching the seals play nearby.  The pool is crowded but a fun vibe with a full Vineyard Vines store. Sipping a drink poolside shopping just combines so many of my hobbies.

Spa– The Spa is located in a separate compound about a 5 minute walk from the main inn. The Spa has its own pool and hot tub.  It was so calm, quiet and soothing that I spent several hours laying out there before my massage.

Boating/Water Activities– There are tons of water activities, and in the summer the whales are all over.  CBI’s private charters are really premium and I loved my whale charter.  My favorite activity that I would recommend everyone do is go on a white shark spotting trip.  CBI, in partnership with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, will take your private group out to track Great White Sharks with a spotter pilot.  I did this and it was seriously amazing. Check out my blog post on this here.

Other– You can play tennis, work out, play golf or walk into the town of Chatham for super cute shops and cafes.

If you are looking for a relaxing cape cod luxury experience where everyone in the family can have a great time then this is everything of the sort.  If you go, be sure and tag me in your pics!
